Barry Hazard

Barry Hazard is a Brooklyn-based artist. His self-titled “sculpture paintings” spill dramatically into heavy relief, often projecting from the wall. The landscapes are derived and composed from multiple photographs pieced together to make unique spaces populated by miniature figures, animals, buildings, glaciers, canyons, meadows and waterfalls. Hazard's works form a semi-fictional dioramic catalog of humanity's complex relationship with the environment through the lens of our shared affection for wide-open spaces.

Hazard has displayed his work in group and solo exhibitions including Hesse Flatow (NYC), Shelter Gallery (NYC), Good Naked (Brooklyn, NY), the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), HallSpace Gallery (Boston), Holy Cross College (Worcester, MA), Exit Art (NYC), Jack the Pelican Presents and Like the Spice Gallery (Brooklyn, NY). His work has been reviewed in the Provincetown Arts Magazine, Art New England, Brooklyn Rail, and the Boston Globe. Hazard is represented by Good Naked Gallery in Brooklyn, NY.
